Hi,
‘Link Building S’cool’ is an informative blog encompassing all matters related to link building and related SEO strategies.
We are here to educate and help you on all aspects of link building through our lucid yet simple writing.

Here are two ways to make facebook effective for link building

People Like Free Stuff.
It’s pretty much a rule of thumb that we like free things. Start a contest on your Facebook page where the first 25 or 50 fans receive a coupon code for your online store, with a value large enough to make a potential fan gush “Awesome!” and blog about it, thus resulting in more links to your main site, and of course more Facebook Fans!

I’ll be posting in about a week about Facebook contest ideas, so check back often!

Keep up the posting.
I see a lot of really excited site owners posting often on Facebook for the first month or so, and then their interaction fizzles out. Keep up the posting – try to post daily, whether it’s about something interesting from your day or about a cool product on your site every once in awhile. A conversation involves two or more people, so be sure to comment on other people’s posts to spark conversation and get people noticing your page. Don’t be shy!

there is a problem straight away, you can not run a competition on a facebook page, you cant ask anyone to do anything to win a competition, this includes asking people to like your page to be entered into a prize draw.

you can forward people onto your own website and you can run as many competitions from there, but it is not allowed to be done on your facebook page, and there have been pages removed from facebook for doing exactly that

When competitions were allowed there were lots of people entering to win free items but it never converted into sales, so I found it a bit pointless.

It all goes back to the first mantra up there: People like free stuff.

I think that facebook marketing can be done for its own sake rather than link building for google. If you get a lot of hits from facebook you would probably not need to rely on google.

With all the changes in Google algo it seems that social networking presence also helps in organic SERPs so might be beneficial to try each and any channel available..
