This time I am  going to discuss about the factors or major points that we have to take into account when selecting a Best ECommerce web developer.Normally companies face trouble in selecting ECommerce web design company or even while recruiting a new  E Commerce web developer for work. The factors that we are going to discuss today hold a good solution for all these problems.
So, people take a look at all the below factors and keep it in mind:

1. Years of Expertise:

Normally everyone in this world believes that only experienced people have good knowledge and good understanding on the subject. This is correct perhaps don’t forget that even fresher’s hold good knowledge and are waiting for an opportunity to show their talent. Experienced people know what they are doing or would have done that in the past.

The point is Experienced Company or person can do the provided task perfectly and deliver at time. But cost separates both experience and fresh talent. You can get a fresher recruited cheaper compared to an experience person. For Small companies or start ups, I would suggest recruiting or outsourcing you’re designing or developing task to a fresher or a new company. They will take time to deliver but you can get it done in much lower cost. But the most important factor is that doesn’t give your project or pay some completely unknown person.

Gather complete details about the company and also don’t forget to ask for sample designs and portfolio before handing over the project. Also, talking about the most important factor, Money, do not pay full amount in the beginning and pay full amount only after receiving the completed project.

2. Clients serviced:

If you are sure that you will have your project done only by an experienced company or individual, then the next factor you will have to take in count is the clients they have serviced.

Many ecommerce web developer, ECommerce website designer and ECommerce company have clients only from certain industry or sector or they are targeting only certain sectors. In this case you will have to discuss a lot about the clients serviced. If you are from Software sector you cannot give your projects to someone who is only specialized in medical or government sectors. They will not know how to fulfill your needs, as they wont have any knowledge what software people are looking for.
If possible speak to the Head of the Department and enquire him regarding the projects they have dealt in the past and their expertise in Web Design industry. Have a look at the websites they have designed. The most important task you will have to do is that, speak to any one of the clients serviced by the web design company and ask them about the service they received from the Design Company. Never trust the testimonials provided on the website of a service provider company.

3. Copyright your website:

I am not going to discuss getting approval for your website; instead this is about the owner ranking of a website. Many website designers want their link on your site telling “this site is designed by”. Do not allow any kind of advertisement from the designing company on your site. If you think it’s just a link and allow, then there are chances for your website to be ranked low on search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc.
Have a copyright tag at the bottom of your webpage with your company name or owner name. Do not allow anyone to add any link to your site unless necessary. Ensure the contract says that you own the copyright to the whole website. Everything that is done by the person or company hired by you should be owned by you.

4. Website Maintenance:

Ask the design company whether they provide Website Maintenance after designing and developing it. If yes, go ahead and ask them to maintain your website, as they know completely about your site as they are its creators. Do not outsource your website maintenance to another company, as it will not help.
If you are planning to do maintenance works for your website, then ask your design company to design a simple and  user friendly website, so that it will be easier to you to maintain it.

Do not assign a ECommerce company  or a ecommerce web developer your project if the following happens:
if the ECommerce web development  are not sure about the pricing and keep changing the pricing based on your needs.
If the ECommerce web design company do not respond well to your initial approach.
If you feel the ECommerce company is wasting your time or taking too much time to respond or not responding on time.
If you think that the ECommerce web design company representative who speaks to you doesn’t answer to your question properly.
Hope the points that we have discussed today are useful for your business.

personal recommendations aren't listed in that, we find that a portion of our worked is gained purely via personal recommendations, people in business talk   ;) , they exchange ideas and experiences.

business fourms, social groups, e-commerce groups even your local chamber of commerce and local enterprise centers will have members and staff you can gain recommendations from.

I disagree with the pricing issue you mentioned to a degree, as many times the customer brief alters as the site is built, additional changes to the orginal brief will be charged for, as with anything in life you get what you pay for and as such you cannot expect the price to remain the same if the brief evolves and includes extra work.
