Just finished with a bad experience with electronic item on ebay and it has me wondering if I should rather go with things I am more familiar with like watches ,jewellery as they can't really go wrong as much as electronic stuff
my other web shop I never had any returns only refunds ... Since it has taken me so long to learn zencart  gasp I have had time to think about it and really decide which way I want to go

I had a few bad experiences with electronics when I sold them as a product range, I counted myself fortunate in that the customers were lovely and patient. Thankfully they weren't on eBay but a website, it's very easy to become paranoid as a buyer or a seller using eBay and other selling venues outside your own website. I was a lot happier when I decided to give electronics as a product range the boot. I think if you are going to run a business then doing something you're happy with is important.

While it's good to go outside your comfort zone every now and then, trying for tryings sake is an overrated experience. In this country it's almost taboo to give up but personally I found it liberating. I gave it a go, made more money than I lost but ultimately it wasn't enough to warrant the headaches and I found myself avoiding that particular site which is just wrong. It's my business I should enjoy what I do.

Go with what makes you happiest, by all means give other things a go but on a limited time/goal orientated basis and don't worry about walking away when things just don't seem right or boredom etc sets in. That's my advice anyway.

It's an ongoing problem I think. I know years ago when I first started visiting the boards one of the first things I found was that plenty were avoiding any electrical retail simply because of the minefield of faulty products.
The primary problem is the high cost on such items in connection to the potential for faulty goods. Price on its own is not a problem, for example if you were selling expensive art prints, but couple it with the high rate of faulty goods and it can be a nightmare!

I have always avoided electrical products, and I would only buy new from well established company, watches can go wrong too. We used to sell those years ago, mainly the batteries if they have been sitting around too long. Jewellery is relatively safe and sought after product though
