Hi,

Has anyone used vistaprint.co.uk for business cards etc is so any feedback on products bought.

Just want other experience of vistaprint before purchasing such as how professional products looked before I purchase some to advertise new computer support services.

products I am looking at are business cards, flyers, car stickers/magnets

I ordered business cards and address labels from Vistaprint. If you join up be prepared for a mass of marketing e-mails, to the point of frustration!

The address labels were really nice quality, stick well and look good.

The business cards are smaller than the standard British kind and incredibly flimsy. It's a choice between printing your own with a home quality printer or VP, there is not a lot to choose between the two but there are a lot better cards out there and first impressions are of the utmost importance. Unless I had a superior printer I wouldn't dream of printing my own and to be frank I don't trust my business image to VP.

Overall the print and paper quality is just not there, disappointing but you get what you pay for. If you really want to save money in this area, consider alternatives to the products you are looking for rather than going for the cheapo options.

At moment just looking at different sources for the items. As business image means a lot so dont want be spending money on things if they dont hold up or look professional.

I normally laser print my own cards but ran out of card stock a couple of months ago and tried out VP - to be honest I didnt go for el cheapo but the more upmarket cards and for the price I cannot fault them - BUT jeeeeeze talk about email marketing they are a freaking nightmare I now have blocked their "offers", I send very few letters out so can print my letterheads as and when required, I acquired a colour laser a couple of years ago and it handles nearly all my printing needs ( Konica Minolta 2490MF ) only cost a couple of hundred as well

I don't think there really is a "standard" size any more with each printer designing their own templates in sizes they see fit.
In the old days (when type was a set size and couldn't be stretched to fit any available space - yuck!!!) business, or visiting, cards came in a variety of standard sizes including thirds, extra thirds, reduced small and small. Also available were single and double panel cards which were pre-embossed.
I would say, if you are going to use Vistaprint, step up from the "just pay postage" version. Use a minimum of 300gm but 330gm would be better. These cards are so cheap now that you should spend a bit more for a good finish. Don't forget your card will often be the first thing your customer sees.
And has been said before - then block their e-mails :-)
