Would you like to elaborate in what you mean by "wanting to develop" do you mean write an e-commerce site or create a site using an existing e-commerce platform

By CMS you mean ? CMS ( content management system ) and e-commerce platforms tend to be separate entities although a level of CMS is included withing most e-commerce applications

The security of most sites is part accomplished by the host and part by using the right software for the job
SSL security should be used for any client side details
