I had a customer on the phone asking if they could make payment over the phone as paypal wasnt processing the payment. The customer doesnt have a paypal account and is trying to use a company credit card which works when ordering from other companies.

Ive had a few customers go to all the hassle of registering add things to their cart and then no orders and is wondering wether there is something wrong.

Any advice would be great as im losing orders becase of it.

I just tried it and it seems fine. I had a similar problem with prestashop when offering free delivery but yours seems to be setup right.

Using a company credit card to buy personal goods? Sounds a bit suspected to me.  Tell them to try their own debit/credit card.

Some people just dont like using paypal period.  They will credte their account etc and when they get to the payment stage they abort.  Its one reason I started offering Nochex, problem is though Nochex has a transaction limit of £100 for their normal account.

On one of my sites I have managed to alter the code to offer free delivery for orders over £40  to UK, but normal delivery charges for worlwide. i.e. no free shipping at all, havent had any problem with it setup like this.

The best solution would be to save up and get yourself a merchant account through sagepay or Streamline, but there are also other payment processors you could look at, Moneybookers, ewayUK, 2checkout. Not sure if any of these charge setup fees, or what their transaction fees are.  I havent ever used any of these so I cannot comment on what they are like to use.

probably the way i wrote it john as not great with words but it is a childrens nursery so is a company trying to use the companies card just gutted as was quite a large order and they rang twice to try and sort it out but i dont know what to do all i can think of is that they have at one point set up a paypal account and it wont let them use the card withut logging in but the customers doesnt think they have a paypal account.

I will look into setting up a better payment method when i have enough funds, just getting annoyed at the amount of people registering adding things to the cart and then not ordering it,

I don't know anything about Prestacart, dyed in the wool zencart man myself, but it should not matter whether a customer has a PayPal account. They should always have the option to   pay by Credit/Debit card or use their PayPal account if they want ( or have one). I would check out your PayPal settings before you rush into a merchant account. PayPal is fine for most businesses.

I have had a problem with paypal - same thing with business visa
The problem was client was entering in company name as who the card was registered to rather than the name on the card ( My own card has both on it as well ) some systems seem to process this and others dont

Could maybe be ??

John, I use my company card for nearly everything i can get away with just not figured out how to use it for tesco yet and claim back the Vat  :D

Some companies also limit where and how their cards can be used. I know mine does. I can't use a company credit card on PayPal or on suppliers who aren't on the authorised list. Perhaps they need to get PayPal added to their list of approved sites?

Thanks for that scotty and gordy may suggest these to the customer may be the reason for it not working just frustrating when someone is saying can i pay you a few hundred pound over the phone and i have to say NO lol, never mind ill look to the positive side that they had every intention of buying from me.
