I'm not sure if you are all aware of this or not but apparently you can get your paypal fees reduced if you take in more than £1500 in a calendar month. Thankfully I found out about this last week and have now got my fees reduced.

The link is here: https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_fees-rate-about-outside

You have to apply for it but it tells you straight away if you are accepted or not.

Hope this is of use to you :-)

it all helps! even my worst month of the year has me within the accepted range I applied over a year ago, and half a percent doesn't sound like much but a couple of hundred pounds a year is better in my pocket than paypals!

A bit confused of the min rate before it drops back to 3.4%

Paypal website says turnover has to be above 1500 pounds a month or the rate drops back down.

Then got email saying approved for the new rate but to stay @ 2.90% the monthly turnover must not go under 3000 pounds  a month ?

I think the email is incorrect... just a typo I assume, although it might be worth checking with them :)

Yes it is simple, if you want to give your hard earned money away......$500 setup fee, $3 refund fee, £50 chargeback fee.......!  Paypal don't charge to setup a business account and don't charge for refunds.  So thats $503 i have saved just by not signing up.  Easiest money i ever saved I think.

Hi, I'm about to start an online business and as you may know that Paypal is the most common means of transaction online, but unfortunately it can't work in my country. The only option I have is to find a RELIABLE Paypal merchant firm which will act on my behalf in collecting revenues generated issuing detailed statements of transaction timely and at fair rates. Please help me out here, thanks.

Im not really sure if any one will be able to help you,

best trying all the main payment processors and ask them if they will accept payments in Qatar,
nochex, sagepay, google checkout etc, I have no idea if they will be of use, best to send some emails and see what they say,
contact your bank aswell, most banks have online payment systems, although these can be quite expensive to set up
