Probably about 75% of my packages go by normal post, 1st, 2nd, standard parcels   recorded really is only a signature at the other end, yes I suppose it stops people from claiming they didn't get it, but tbh packages getting lost in the UK are fairly rare and I've probably had as many recordeds go missing as any other method. Personally I don't believe it's worth 75p but it's personal choice.  The majority of customers are honest.

going abroad is a different matter, I would recommend international signed for over airmail especially to countries like Italy where large numbers of packages go missing.
