Just wondering as i am useing payapl as my payment provider would it still be worth investing in a security certificate for my site.

I know paypal is secure but would it still add that bit more confidence when customers actually see a certificate on my site.

I had an SSL certificate one of my sites before i moved hosts, and didnt bother to get another afterwards, and didnt really see much difference in conversions, I am considering getting another but for different reasons.

Thanks John,

Im a thinkin the general public not to hot on internet jargon will even notice the diffrence. As soon as they hit the payment button and it goes to paypal the padlock and secure server will come up anyway.

A lot depends on the customer - you dont need an SSL for Paypal nor is it any good as it will use the paypal SSL anyway but where it is usefull is for registration pages and site checkout where sensitive information such as name address and email details are displayed - it is a little piece of mind for the client and shows you are considering their security in these days data theft.
