I must admit I was impressed by Nick Clegg, having never seen him speak before on anything he came accross as a breath of fresh air, he wasn't intent on just slagging off the previous governments he was more interested in interacting with the audience and answering the points raised, his attitude towards trident makes perfect sense (now that other half has explained that one I AM a head in the sand type usually)

To my mind he definately made a good impression, he kept it down to earth and communicated well, i Was distracted by the shiny new man ;) and i don't think I'll be the only one to be honest.

He did manage in my opinion to make himself stand out from the others , Cameron spent most of the time looking wholly unprepared and wittering on about what should happen and what has gone wrong without once actually detailing any policies, a montage of camerons facial expressions would be highly amusing... unprepared, confused, flummoxed, worried, embarassed, TWAT .... oh thats not a facial expression is it .. ,

Gordon Brown managed to do ok but bored me with his repetitiveness, he said nothing new and nothing that stood out for me as a reason to vote for him

I'm looking forward to the next one now.........

I didn't watch and for me this was a step too far.

Politics shouldn't be about personalities but policies.

The question used to be, which party will make my life better, then it became, who will keep us safest, now it's whose got the most glamourous wife or what's he wearing, driving, speaking like today etc. This debate was a pitch at making politicians celebs and not a stab at trying to find the people who keep the country running smoothly with as little interference to the daily lives of the populous as possible.

Doh i posted in wrong section..

I thought lastnights effort by the big three was funny...the body language was intresting...and i did laugh when Cameron made some intresting gestures as an immediate response to some of the verbal punches he recieved...Brown's strange amourous advances towards the LibDems in saying he agreed with Clegg had Clegg producing some 'get away from me' hand gestures in desperation...got bored towards the end though.

Hower, Dragons Eye the Welsh version was much more real and lively...The Plaid Cymru And LibDem leaders had individual spats with the Journalist asking the questions.

So far, Clegg has made a good start in my eyes...he does really need to lose that 6th former style though, how much was Trident really going to cost over the next 25 years?

100 Billion i think it is, crazy :)

I usually find the whole political arena a mess of back biting and bitching and handbag swinging , as someone who generally doesnt pay too much attention to what goes on outside my bubble what Clegg was saying was keeping my attention and thats no mean feat, the snippets of his manifesto i have managed to find reference to have been interesting and informative,

The discussion from the scottish and welsh representatives afterwrds on bbc news was a little amusing to me but thats another thread i feel ....

Clegg did OK but its dead easy to create a great persona when you know there is little chance that you will ever be asked to do it - no matter what the powers that will be will be either Labour or Tory until such times as the UK catches up on voting by using proportional representation
The trident issue is a good one but Clegg overused it in the debate and in fact got told to stop at one point - he was beginning to run out of steam IMO - lets see how he does tonight

Personally the debate has been the highlight of this election and seeing the panic on the tory faces and on labours as they suddenely realise it isn't a two horse race anymore. I had to laugh listening to the radio as DC was interviewed over plans to cut benefits to those who won't take a job, when the presenter rightly pointed out that the liberals brought that out before the first world war, and that it was the tories who took it away in the 80's!!! We may not see a majority goverment in power after this election but it sure is funny seeing the desperation on their faces as the penny drops that the public is P****D off with them all.
