how do I go about finding out and understanding how many people have visited my website
I have managed to find the control panel in scotserve and have been to latest visitors but have no idea what it all means unless I'm in the wrong place
I've also managed to find AW stats but don't really understand it
what is the difference between viewed traffic and not viewed traffic for example
it also says I've had 338 unique visitors can that be right
and 7.765 pages what does that mean ??

Unique visitors are exactly that, individual people visiting your site.
Non viewed traffic is search engines viewing your site, not people.
Hits are all the pages viewed, so if one person looks at ten pages on your site then that will generate ten hits, if they look at the same page twice then it will count that as  two seperate hits, pages are the amount of pages viewed, if the same Person views the same page twice or more, that will count as one page view.

The important numbers are the unique visitors and where they are leaving yor site (bounce rate) you can check where visitors are entering and leaving your site if you look at the most viewed URLs (pages).

Awstats is quite good ;)

Try to use Google Analytics to see  your traffic, visitors, dynamic of growth, etc. it's a free tool and very effective. And there is good information in the Internet about how to use it.

Hi

As stated in a previous post, we do offer a set up service for Google Analytics, Google Webmaster and Google Base Feed (PrestaShop).

We only charge £20 for set up of Google Analytics, give us a call if you would like us to do this for you.
