Just signed up for it and set up a site - will give updates as it progresses. :)

The site is created through Google, so you need an account with that. Sign up is pretty straight forward and confirmation is via your mobile phone. Templates are basic but there are some nice ones.
Once set up you can add edit amend whatever.
until registration your site will look something like this address.

Fairplay this works...im signed up and had a site up within minutes, domain for two years,

I think you have to stay 60 days before you can move, however please do check that in T&C's,

Its just a basic advert for me...not expecting much from the templates when i finally get round to looking,

Someone wanna point out the downside?...what will Google and BT do with this info lol :)

Thanks :)

Well just checked mine and it is up and running (actually forgot about it hehehe)

Can't do any harm by singing up and doing a little site to promote yourself.

Yes Zola you are correct, you are bound for 60 days with them - no biggy really though.

seems a good way to pint anyone who is just starting and wants to test the water in my mind.

Now the bad news

These domains are registered through 123 reg
60 day lien is in breach of nominet's terms and conditions

Are these names registered correctly in the clients name - do you receive Notification from Nominet of your Nominet account

no you don't ..... i certainly havent and ive registered 2 ....

although im not intending moving mine and they will be purely for keyworded pointy stuff, the domains are keyword heavy for the businesses they are aimed at i guess the first person that tries to move one is going to have to come back and let us know what happens ...

Everyone read terms and conditions first, its says for us to expect an email from Nominet regarding registration,

The T&C's also talk about the spirit of the offer...one free domain per business :P ...i was planning different email addresses and keyword domains... plus showing my two sons who i know will fancy playing with a website and domain name of their own, not strictly business...so im not telling anyone off :D

its limited to one per user ...... based on google accounts from what i can gather ....... so i got my second one knocked back ;)

if i dont get a nominet mail then i'll just make the most of it then let the domain drop as i cant be arsed with the grief switching things around when the registrations are wrong ....

will be interesting to see if they charge for a move .... cant remember reading about a charge but it wouldnt surprise me
