Hi, my name is Maxine and I am owner of Handmade For You UK which is a listing site for UK handmade businesses.

I am currently looking into creating a marketplace website so that businesses can sell their products with us, on a basis similar to Etsy, folksy etc
I am looking for a site that will enable members to log into their own area, add their products and edit their details and simply charge them commission for any items sold.
I have been searching for what feels like months for something that would be suitable but not cost 1000s of pounds (as I simply do not have the money for this kind of outlay) and was recommended to come and ask if anyone can offer me any kind of advice and maybe help point me in the right direction?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this,
Maxine

Hi Maxine
Take a look at x-cart.com the Pro version allows for multiple vendors through a single checkout
However on your other post you said you didnt have the money to set up properly you will need to invest in security and software for a venture like this as well as decent legal advice.

I notice all the variations of your name i.e. handmade4you and handmadeforyou are already taken so you might have to re-brand
Im trying not to pour water on this but IMO you have went at this from the wrong direction - having 200 people is great but 200 people getting something for nothing rarely equates to 200 paying clients - at the very least you should have had your own domain pointing to the free website ( far from ideal) but would have been far easier to move and retain what you have built up.
