Sorry if this sounds like a really stupid question, but I have never done this before LOL.

I am changing my broadband provider on Monday and I want to make sure that I dont miss any emails from my previous provider.  What is the best way to handle this.  I am currently with Tiscali or Talk Talks as they seem to be now and I am moving to BT's fibre optic broadband.

That may not be possible - its the single most important reason to use your own domain for email - your old address may/ may not work its really up to the provider and aso whether they have  facility to forward emails.
