I found a wordpress template that was 100% for a small site of mine - so I have added the e-commerce plug in and so far so good.
it does not have anywhere near the features that many of the dedicated carts do but sometimes i feel thats a bit like a smart phone - just how much do you actually use.

Anyway i will report on how this pans out as i put it all together.

I wish we had a wordpress section.

Because I think it's great! As for the e commerce then there are many plugins. Or none... sell a single item at a time then just a button is needed. I digress, but i have found wordpress to be much more maleable than open source carts. With todays api development there is only a need for a dedicated cart if your shopper requires many items per visit..

Not having looked at this myself (although I do now have a wp site on a social network domain) can shoppers access a shopping cart and add more than one item?
Or are we talking about singular purchases without log in options or a cart and so on?

are you meaning using a wordpress site for retail purposes? if so, have a look at Grifters post in the showcase section, plain Jane I think the threads called, he's running a retail site using a wordpress, does the job pretty well so it does  thumbs up

theres not much you cant get a wordpress site to do with a little bit of knowhow and effort
