I@m confusing myself with which the shipping options I use. In Zen I have set the module to a flat rate and offer free shipping over a certain amount. All seems to be ok, however, when I was configuring my paypal acc there was shipping options in there too and set them the same way.

Will these two conflict with each other?

Any advice/recommendation very much appreciated

fire a test order through for a couple of pence and see if paypal add on the shippping charges again,

I think the paypal shipping doesnt get used unless people pay via a paypal invoice or paypal buttons, if the payment comes via a cart (like zen cart) I dont think the shipping costs would be added.

Although I cant be 100% sure without doing a test order and seeing what happens

In Paypal on your shipping options page there is a small check box at the bottom that if checked will allow your website shipping option to override the paypal shipping options  wink

Simply PayPal is the best and most secure shopping cart in compare of ZenCart. Basically ZenCart needed all the content and web design inside the system while PayPal does not. Paypal does t down the website. Also with PayPal the third party security certificate is unnecessary. The important difference is that ZenCart requires all the changes including price and design to done with the software while with PayPal does not. Also PayPal work with simple HTML pages.

the question wasnt to use paypal as a shopping cart, the question was if there was any conflict with the shipping module in zen cart and paypal.

Using paypal as a shopping cart (paypal buttons on a hand written html page) is not really they way anyone should be going.
A website built using paypal buttons looks cheap and doesnt inspire confidence at all.

Using paypal as a payment processor is a good idea, as long as it is used in conjunction with an actual shopping cart software like zen cart, prestashop, cs-cart, open cart etc.
Paypal buttons on a html site is not the way to go.
