Aloha intelligent people :-)

Just looking for some guidance on the inbuilt Zen Cart Counter that is displayed in the Admin Side of things I look at this most times, but thats about all I do with it is just look at it and wonder what the fork the numbers mean  . .

I have in the past used them to pick my national lottery numbers  . . but alas that system doesnt work  . .

Anyone shed some light on it for me ?

Cheers :-)

Craig

Screen Shot of this weeks counter numbers  . .  might as well be this weeks lottery numbers for all they mean to me :-)

the first number (ie, 10/20/2011  237 - 283)
237 would refer to the number of visits you have had, this doesn't distinguish between multiple visits from the same user and it includes search engine bots and spiders, so some of those visits wont be people, they'll include search engines aswell, and some of those numbers could include the same user visiting the site more than once, aswell as some peoples IP addresses tend to change quite alot (like AOL users) so some people will show up in those stats as 5 different users, which means the numbers tend not to reflect the true number of visitors.

the second number (283) refers to the number of pages viewed (or hits)

Thanks Seamus, for shedding some light on that :-) I will just disregard them as normal then, I didn't think they were very acurate as google analytics and my c Panel stats show differnt figures which are closer together :-)

Andy - Try it just pick six random numbers under 49 from the jumble of randomly generated numbers that are there and jacks your auntie - gotta be in it to win it ! :-)

Thanks again though :-)
