Now I'm not a complete novice to ecommerce, but I've not setup a Wordpress/Paypal site before, especially one that integrates:

  • Online payments via credit card
  • Choice of 1 payment or 3 installments
  • Run an affiliate programme
  • Run a membership programme
  • Link with Aweber or similar

I've set up the site using wordpress, I've got Wishlist (for membership) and I've been accepted for Paypal Web Payment Pro.

My questions:

Do I need Web Payment Pro, or can I do all of the above with just Paypal Standard with a few Wordpress Plugins?

I've been looking at 1Shoppingcart - do I need this?

If anyone could suggest the best formula, or assist, I would be very appreciative.

Many thanks

wpecommerce a free plug in

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-e-commerce/

that will integrate seamlessly with wordpress , if youare running affiliates then youre looking for something similar to this  ...

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-affiliate/

also free ,

membership programme http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/membership/

no idea if they will all work together without any hitches  though lol

wp e-commerce is terrible - we had to stop supplying it, the support is non existant and the free version very limited which forces you into the paid version.
To the OP your sticking point will be the payment by installments, I cant really think of any way of doing this

We supply www.shopplugin.net which in our opinion is far superior to any of the other shopping cart systems for WP - lots of clients on here running it as well

custom plugin, would probably need coding from scratch, but the problem is the fact its an extension to a payment module so the coding would need to be bang on, if its not written properly it could be a bit of a security risk.

Thanks for the response everyone - very helpful. So it sounds like the recurring payments might be an issue - I've seen others offering this, but most seem to be using Clickbank or Infusionsoft.

If anyone else has ideas as to linking:

Affiliates
Recurring payments
Membership

It would be much appreciated

Thanks again

Recurring payments and membership should not really be a problem but it would be helpful if you let us know what you are selling i.e. is it a membership or actual products or both.

Rainee - are we talking about the same plugin? the one you have to upgrade to "Gold" before you can even use multiple product images or use a grid view for your products?
