Hello there- am new on the forum!
Just wanted an opinion on the morals on this and what you would do as I know I can do nothing to stop it. I recently found my books on ebay on a buy it now price much more than what they retail at. I have a feeling it is a "mummy blogger" who has asked to receive my books for review and therefore got them for free. As I said I know there's nothing to stop this- but would you try and find out who it is?
Thanks

I'm sure there is a way if you own the rights to the books ... I would contact the seller first then ebay itself ...
but rather wait for a pro to pop in and give better advice

Did the seller comply with all contractual obligations? Did you place in the contract that you retained the ownership of the books or that they could not be sold on?

If all contractual obligations were fulfilled and if there was nothing to stop the seller from selling the books on then IMO no you don't have any moral say so.

If you did have a full contract in place retaining ownership or otherwise preventing the sale of the books by a reviewer, then you do have a moral and possibly legal right to complain to the seller and eBay.

Thanks guys- I don't think I have a leg to stand on- will check my terms and conditions and my publishing contract.I am unsure now as to whether it's a reviewer as it says "10 in stock". Another power seller has just pooped up too selling them today. If they are selling them- ie creating exposure and having to order from me then I am not too bothered- but am just wondering where they are getting them from and how they have 10!!! Thanks once again for the  sound advice.

Saying that- Ebay have just contacted me saying the power seller has infringed my IP rights and to report them- confused.com. Maybe because they are selling them new without contacting me for permission as publisher and owner of the IP  rights they are in the wrong??

Why would you report them to confused.com? You really need a solicitor to explain the ins and outs of this to you.

Sorry I think I confused you! I meant it as an expression of how I was confused not the website! Yes I agree I need to get advice on this from an IP expert. Thanks though for your help and support
