They worked for 45 years...BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONER GET A TOTAL YEARLY BENEFIT OF £6,000
ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS / REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN GET A TOTAL YEARLY BENEFIT OF £29,900
The average pensioner has paid taxes and contributed to the growth of the UK for the last 40 to 60 years.

However, the claims in the message are untrue. The refugee payment figures stated in the protest message bear no relation whatsoever to the amounts actually payed to refugees. In fact, the message is nothing more than a UK specific version of an email hoax that has circulated in Australia, the US and Canada for several years. The rumour first began circulating in 2004 after an inaccurate and misleading letter to the editor was published in a Canadian newspaper. This initial Canadian version was dismissed as a hoax by government entity Citizenship and Immigration Canada and other credible sources.

I think the fact it says illegal immigrants should give the game away that it is total crap, illigal immigrants get benefits do they? really?

I've only just arrived Rainee - I don't want a lifetime ban straight away! 

What's this 7 year tax free business malarkey? Can I qualify? I'm not sure if my papers were in order when I immigrated here in 1970... My parents just popped me on the counter when the Customs man asked if they had any souvenirs and suchlike to declare from their 3 year stay in the States.
