OK here goes . I am selling pewter items on a website and so far it only contains pewter ..My question is would silver items look out of place or should I just keep it to pewter which is where my head is telling me to stick with ..
The only reason I ask is I have search for other items of pewter but can only find other things in silver that I want to add to my site

thanks

There's nothing wrong with adding silver items to a site selling pewter products, it's quite a common practice and can bring in more customers than just having pewter items.
If you are concerned that your URL contains 'pewter' it should not make mutch difference, just add silver to your <title> and add silver to your meta keywords and meta description.

I don't think it's as clean cut as all that.

It entirely depends on your market and the products. For example, if you have a narrow market like biker jewellery and your pewter jewellery caters to the leather, skulls and studs, and you can source that style of jewellery in silver, then fine.

If you are offering blood dripped pewter fangs and dragons alongside peach and butterfly charm bead jewellery ... you could be stretching it a bit.

The main consideration is the market you are aiming for, do they buy silver?

I was wondering as it's such a pain ,would it be possible to turn Documents into another category by coping category stuff over ,or is that too difficult to be done

Andy

Documents is a different product type so whether it would work or not would very much depend on what you're trying to do.

Let us know what you're trying to achieve, someone might have a solution for you.

But what is it that you want the categories to do for you?

I want to split it into 2.. So 1 can be for Pewter & the other Silver ..Even if it just a wording in the category is fine .
It's just so people can see what's what is pewter and what is sliver
