Hi, wondered if anyone can help me.

I wanted to increase the mailing list on my website, as i am not using at the moment which seems a bit silly. I was thinking of promoting it by saying everyone that signs up gets entered into a prize draw as i have seen others do this. I just thought i had better check and thought some one on here might know the answer by doing this am i breaking any laws etc.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not positive, but I think you may need to say that anyone can enter, even if they don't sign up. But, of course, you can make that fact in very small type !!

Edit: Hope you don't mind me saying - just had a look at your site and you've got a dozen or so mistakes in those two paragraphs on the home page. Could do with tidying up.

If they dont sign up or have subscribed to the terms and privacy statement then any email could be dfined as spam IMO

Firstly are these people that have agreed to your terms and conditions?
Secondly you need to comply with anti spam regulations and offer a way of unsubscribing from within your email
You need to be satisfied you are not breaching the gaming act

In addition your privacy policy is insufficient currently to allow you to even market to your customers never mind running a competition.

Cheers Guys

Just corrected a couple of mistakes so hopefully its ok now  :) Will add a bit on bottom saying they can also enter by emailing me there details.

Scotserve just found template for privacy policy and changed it so hopefully all ok now. They would be able to unsubscribe from emails and i could add a bit where they have to  subscribe saying please read the terms and conditions.

Ah thats fine yes - yes your terms/privacy allow you to email your current client base, just make sure you allow them to unsubscribe from marketing material if they wish
