Just finished with my first experience of drop shipping with dpbuk ....So I am now searching for a more prolific venture that will keep me going for longer and have something more of interest to me and not something of the opposite sex  gasp lol (cosmetics). As they were a learning curve and I learnt a heck of a lot . I would have stayed with them but what let them down was the constant long delays in sending off products (with 7/8 days almost being the norm) and having to quell the fury of my customers asking where the heck there stuff was ..
So the search starts anew and sometimes I wonder which is best stock my own stuff (which will consume a hell of a lot of time) or drop-ship again, with drop-shop leading the forefront at the moment  nah nah
I just need to cover a few more industrial places close to home and see what they have to offer and if I can do any dealing with them  great

you could do both, hold your own stock and use dropship suppliers to boost your range till you can add more to the stock you hold,  thumbs up

Or carry on as you are but this time use the actual dropshipper of the goods.

have no idea what I will be doing for sure yet ... my wife makes these sugar Easter eggs ..similar to these http://candy.about.com/od/sugarcandy/r/sugar_eggs.htm ...I think it's a extremely good idea to start but the only thing it is sort of seasonal that's the only let down ... she wants to learn how to make great cupcakes too but delivery might be the problem
otherwise it might be both incorporated into the same website or 2

Andy,

The eggs would be great around easter time but the cakes you could sell all year round and decorate them accordingly,e.g. Halloween, Christmas, Valentines etc.

The biggest hurdle I can see for you there is the regulations surrounding the sale of foodstuffs. I don't know them myself but I've heard they can be very restrictive.

can they ,I know you have to take precautions and get the necessary paperwork and get someone round to make sure your kitchen is up to standard..not sure what it is all called right now as it was a while ago my wife looked into it
but as for the Easter eggs they not really for eating but you could I suppose, so they should be OK

Not something you should consider lightly and certainly not without product liability insurance

The eggs you would need to check out as if they are edible then they may well be classed as food
