Hi, everybody.

We have launched the poll in order to find out what the best E-commerce software is.

http://www.alt-team.com/best-ecommerce-software.html

There two nominations:

Best licensed E-commerce software.

Best open-source E-commerce software.

We'd like to join together as many honest and independent opinions as possible.

You are welcomed to take part in it. Any contribution is highly appreciated.
Thank you.

On your Licenced software you have a mix of Hosted applications and independent shopping cart systems also Magento can be both licenced and opensource so the first section is rather ambigious as I would always choose an independent cart over a hosted application

Dear scotserve,

Thanks for the reply. We decided not to divide shopping carts into hosted - not-hosted (for this time at least). The question is - what is the best paid and free shopping.
As to Magento, we are aware that it has a Community version (as well as some others in the lists), but we meant by open-source cart which are available to transferring, copying, etc.
As far as we understood, Magento is not available for transferring to third-party. Please correct us if we are wrong.
Thank you.

We're glad to announce the first results of voting.

Best open-source E-commerce software is PrestaShop (according to this poll at the actual state).
As to the Best licensed E-commerce software, CS-Cart is a leader at present moment.
Thanks to everybody for voting, the vote is going on.

Regards, Alt-team.

Interesting to see PrestaShop coming out on top. I would have presumed Magento or OpenCart, but that is only going off what our customers prefer and the developers we work with. I will be keeping an eye on this poll to see if there are any drastic changes!

We support PrestaShop amongst many other shopping carts but currently this is the only one we do not have a free payment module for as PrestaShop want to charge users for it. That said, we do offer to credit an account once the merchant has purchased the module.

Thanks,

Simon

We are surprised by PrestaShop leadership too) Not because of its features or something, we just thought that Open Cart is more popular and wide-spread. But everything may change, it's possible that just PrestaShop fans found this poll earlier and Open Cart or Magento followers haven't seen it yet.
Thanks for sharing your opinion.

I think it boils down to who is developing the site more than who the owner is, the vast majority of our clients are on either zencart or prestashop with FB e-commerce coming in third, I honestly do not think I have any opencart shops on our network - suppose it really depends on the market you are serving, on paid for carts x-cart wins hands down

I have looked at a number of carts but can only support a limited number - we allow clients to install opencart direct from our autoinstallers but as a small business that provides hands on support to our clients we can only "officially" support so much.
Due to the response of opencart it is something I am looking at - it however it depends on the big man upstairs allowing for 36 hours a day instead of the current 24 :p

With the Prestashop devs looking to integrate an Ebay Module as standard with the software I can see Prestashop becoming a lot more popular, if it works.

I prefer the open source & I suggest Zeuscart which is the best user & seo friendly shopping cart software.
