Hi, I'm looking to 'start' my business properly if this makes sense....lol

I have a facebook page that i have had up and running for a month or 2 now but would like to get a website etc..... I've got a few questions as i am bit stuck and new to all of this.

1 - Where to i start with terms and conditions as it all seems a bit like mumbo jumbo to me at the moment, how do i even begin to write them?

2 - Who would/can you recommend for good public/product liabaility insurance for babywear

3 - When do i need to inform the tax man and how

and lastly where do i register my buisiness.

Sorry for all the questions, like i said im new to it all, ive googled most of the above but there just seems like there so many different sites etc to read through, so i thought id have a go at asking you lot.......... :D

Thanks

Scotserve is doing an offer of a set up Wordpress website complete with T&cs etc. so it may be work looking at if you havent already.

http://www.cmtia.co.uk/ may be worth a look for insurance.

You need to inform the Inland Revenue within 3 months of your first sale

Registering your business I believe is the same as letting the Inland Revenue know you are trading.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong LOL.

Thanks :D

Scotserve is looking into mine for as i ave already got my domain main, so hopefully he'll be sorting me out one...... fingers crossed

Ive only been doing it a month or so and not made loads of money I would say not even £100 as only started doing it as a 'hobby business' for something to do while on MAT leave. Do the same rules apply for a hobby business then, although i do want to make it bigger now my manager is not taking me back on to work...

Most definately the rules apply.  A business is anything which you do for money LOL whether you class it as a hobby or not.

Yep you will be classed as a sole trader - before you do so I would suggest you have a word with a local accountant, they usually give the first consultation for free, they can advise on where and what to register, accounting dates etc. Some people say that you dont need an accountant which is perfectly true however I have never in all my years tradng paid an accountant more than he has saved me.

Happy to sort you out with a site but as per the other thread you need to sign up and then get the domain name pointing to our servers.

You have 3 months to register as self employed with HMRC regardless of any sales or work done. Or has it changed or have I misunderstood (wouldn't be the first time)
