Thanks for the recommendation John
Babybelles I have been doing this for 17 years so well established - can you tell me what you are using to build the site ?
Have you purchased your domain name yet ?
Feel free to contact me directly if you need any advice I dont bite
I have purchased my domain name and at the minute im using site-fusion to build my site as its quite dummy proof......lol :O)
Arrrrgghhhh!!! Please no - you will NEVER be able to create a proper shopping cart doing that by yourself
I really suggest using a Wordpress cart ( it is free) - here is one that took me 5 minutes to put together
http://www.scotserve.co.uk/blog using an off the shelf template
whats wordpress cart??? lol that looks really cute :O) like i said before im new to it all so it needs to be dummy proof.........lol
Wordpress is an opensource script originally used as a Blog but has way exceeded that capability, there are literrall thousands of templates around that you can install in a couple of minutes as well as several e-commerce add ons to turn it into a cart.
There are lots of free templates as well as premium templates that cost £20-£30 the one you see is a free one. This uses a proper shopping cart function so all you need to do is add products ( you have an administration panel where you simply add the product and picture and select a category the script does the rest ) You can create pages using a wysiwyg editor.
Wordpress is probably not as configurable shopping cart wise as say Zencart or Prestashop ( other open source carts) but for smaller shops and people new to e-commerce I do feel it is a lot more friendly and other than your hosting it costs nothing.
You dont need Paypal buy it now buttons it all works in an integrated way providing you with a much classier/professional feel
Of course there is a learning curve but so far every client I have ever set up has got the hang of things within a couple of days and I am here to help - and believe me some people that can use this shouldn't have access to a knife and fork
