Introducing yourself is never as easy, so here are the basics and feel free to ask anything afterwards.

I'm Ali, 25 years old and from the UK.

I sell my handmade jewelry on ebay, but mostly just as a hobby - I'm not really a small business to be honest. Easiest way to keep up with that is via my facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/AWildDog-Alison-Samantha-Jewelry/154948801229210 (where I also show case new stuff that's not on sale yet - likers get the first refusal! plus there will be some competitions and things).

I'm also a photographer, although currently I don't sell prints - that maybe a venture for the future but right now my photographs are too dear to me.

So that's me in a nutshell!

I will. All depends on if I sell anything. I've sold two things (done lots of commissions tho), so right now they're only worth a mention - not much else, but I will be pursuing all the registering malarkey if it changes pace a lot. Which although I want to sell stuff I do make - I dread it. Way too much paperwork.

im sorry but regardless of turnover you are trading , and therefore have a duty to inform the tax office , , chances are you wont have to pay any tax , but the fines for not registering far outweigh the couple of phonecalls it takes to register, there is nowhere near as much paperwork involved as people would lead you to think......

I'm on JSA at the moment, so I tell them - I was told that's all I needed to do right now? Or is someone at the JC not good at their job?

Yep
You need to comply with lots of consumer regulations as well as register with HMRC no matter how much you are earning
